The Old Barge at the start of navigation in Hertford is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2014.

The pub is seen as soon as you cross the bridge from Bull Plain in Hertford. It’s on an island in the Lea although this is not immediately clear.

Also mentioned in the guide is Lombard House next to the bridge. This dates from the early Tudor period and is now occupied by the Hertford Club. CAMRA members can be signed in on production of a membership card.
