Lea Bridge: Old School House needs more funds

The charming Kentish ragstone St James’s Mission Room in School Nook behind the Princess of Wales at Lea Bridge is in danger of being turned into flats.

The plan was to have open a canal heritage centre built in the tiny 1841 building but not enough money has so far been raised.

Last minute attempts to allow more time for fundraising are reported in the Hackney Gazette.
